Can some-one explain the difference between bi-polar and uni-polar? Are there any other 'polars' (apart from bears that is)? What effects they both have on a 'victim'? Is one better than the other? etc etc. :D

We tend to use the phrase double pole for bi-polar and single pole for uni-polar. Basically they refer to the conductive surface of the electrode and how many conductive surfaces and connection points are encapsulated within that electrode. For example, we offer single pole (uni-polar) and double pole (bi-polar) Penile Rings (http://www.peselectro.com/pescontent/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_69&products_id=202). This means that a single pole Penile Ring has one solid conductive surface with one connection point on one electrode and a double pole (bi-polar) electrode has two conductive surfaces with two connections points on that one electrode. In the case of our double pole Penile Rings, instead of a full circle of conductivity within the Penile Ring, there are two half circles of conductivity.

Does that make sense?

There is a difference in how you connect them and in how they deliver the sensation.

Any double pole (bi-polar) electrode does not require a second electrode in order to function. So if you get a double pole electrode, all you need is the power box and leads and you are set to go. For example, the Acrylic Anal Plugs (http://www.peselectro.com/pescontent/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_85&products_id=309) are all double pole and so you wouldn't require a second electrode in order to use them.

With a single pole (uni-polar) electrode, you need a second electrode (either single or double pole) in order to complete the circuit or else you will feel nothing from that electrode. So if you were to get a Prostate Stimulator (http://www.peselectro.com/pescontent/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_69&products_id=320), for example, you'd need to get an additional electrode, such as the Tubular Base Ring (http://www.peselectro.com/pescontent/index.php?main_page=product_info&manufacturers_id=&products_id=312) (also a single pole), in order for it to work.

A double pole electrode can be used a single pole, in that you can use one connection point on that electrode as the second electrode in a pair. One example of this would be the double pole Electro-Flex Anal Plugs (http://www.peselectro.com/pescontent/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_85&products_id=318). While this electrode could be used by itself, by connecting one side of the leads to only one of the two connection points on the plug you can also use just one side of the Plug in circuit with another electrode, such as one of the Corona Stimulators (http://www.peselectro.com/pescontent/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&keyword=Corona&categories_id=&inc_subcat=1&manufacturers_id=13&pfrom=&pto=&dfrom=&dto=&x=12&y=8) (which are single pole).

As for difference in sensation, typically it has to do with whether a double pole electrode is being used a single pole or as a double pole. For example, if you were using one of the Deep Throats (http://www.peselectro.com/pescontent/index.php?main_page=advanced_search_result&keyword=Deep&categories_id=69&inc_subcat=1&manufacturers_id=16&pfrom=&pto=&dfrom=&dto=&x=12&y=13). If you were to use one as a double electrode, there are going to be the internal sensations delivered by the Slim Jim or Big Jim in conjunction with the external sensations delivered to the cock head by the Main Body.

Or if you were to choose to use only one part of the Deep Throat in conjunction with another electrode such as the Tubular Mid-Ring (http://www.peselectro.com/pescontent/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=67_69&products_id=313). So if you connect only the Big Jim or Slim Jim portion of the Deep Throat (you would still have the Main Body in place to act as an anchor for the insert, it simply would not be an active surface in the configuration) and use it in circuit with the Tubular Mid-Ring at some point along the penile shaft, this would completely change the sensations being delivered by the Deep Throat.

It isn't so much that a single pole (uni-polar) electrode is better than a double pole (bi-polar) electrode so much as it is a matter of how that electrode will focus the sensation being delivered at that moment.
