Hello -

I came across electro stim some time ago, and shrugged off. Recently discovered again and want to give it a try, but am concerned about side effects. Are there any negative side effects for men using electronic stimulation? Does it dull or cause nerve damage, in such a way that regular masturbation or sex with one's partner isn't as enjoyable? (I guess I am referring to "desensitization" - where other types of sex aren't as enjoyable and you need electro stim to get off).

Sorry for my naive post. I am really interested but would like to hear from those who actually do this before I give it a try.

Thanks!
;)

We would hope the main side effect would be pleasure. ;)

As to negative effects, we do recommend moderation in use as with any other "toy". Typically as long as you follow the instructions you should have no problems. We have been selling these products for at least 20 years. The basics are to make sure to use plenty of lubricant, make sure your electrode(s) has good contact, and gradual increase and adjustment of the stimulation.

We recommend moderation so that you do not become desensitized to the stimulation. The typical customer is not going to find this a replacement for human contact but an enhancement for foreplay/masturbation or perhaps just a change from the norm. Most customers use this as some added fun if they have a partner who is open to this kind of play or perhaps their drive is greater then their partners, so they use this as a way to make masturbation more enjoyable for themselves. There are those who use these products because of other issues and find it is beneficial for them.

The main things I have been told about that would be seen as negative are all things that are usually temporary and the result of not following basic caution. There are those who have experienced temporary numbness from over-use or perhaps using too much power too quickly (usually more common with Stereo Stimulation then made-for-play boxes). There is also the possiblity of epidermal burns if you do not use enough lubricant or do not have good contact. These are usually preventable if you pay attention to the sensations being delivered because you will usually notice a hot spot before it causes too much damage. And I suppose there are those who have not cleaned their products or shared without proper cleaning who have experienced the occaisional infection. Not too common unless you are using anal items vaginally or not using proper precaution using urethral electrodes.

I hope this helps.
